Day 4: Following the Lord's Lead

C.S Lewis once wrote:  "There are no ordinary people.  You have never talked to a mere mortal." Last evening marked two and half full days of treatment here.  We were invited in the evening to participate in a praise and worship service in one of the beautifully appointed spaces here.  People came and relaxed in recliners, some holding each other, and all very drawn to prayers of joy and hope and thanksgiving. Pastor Michael, who, with his wife, has an outreach house near here for boys on the street, has a gift for music and for communicating God's love and goodness through the Word, and through his music.  Music has such a gift for healing the spirit.  He spoke last night about faith and about the power of our words and our need to speak goodness and blessing over our lives, our bodies and souls and spirits.  He worked from the story of the woman with the hemorrhage who spent all her money to be healed, but knew Jesus was the one who coul...

The Resurrected Body

Easter is a time for reflection on many things: the victories Christ has won for us over sin, the  flesh, the devil, death and hell. We also receive a pledge of the joy and peace and light and transformation He promises through the witness of His own Paschal mystery, the promise of empowerment with the coming of the Holy Spirit, the call to mission, and many other things besides. Perhaps one thing we do not reflect upon as much as we should, is the body, and the promise that Jesus brings to us in the qualities of His own resurrected body. Just Pics and a Little Update

We had a good, encouraging visit with the doctor today who is wonderful and reassured Sister that the different things she is experiencing are normal.  Her body didn't get where it is overnight.  He explained that she needs to be patient but for the most part what she is experiencing is her body beginning to recognize and fight back against the foreign invader.  Fear and anxiety are definite foes in this battle.  Jesus Himself told us that fear is useless and that what is needed is trust in Him, no matter where He leads.  The doctor is happy with where Sister is, at the 2 week mark, and reminded her that she will be at this work for months to come.  So, as Sister said:  "just be patient.  It will take time." It is quite amazing, the power of words to bring peace and clarity.  So important for all of us to maintain a positive spirit.  Today we will just share some pics of the local Church here where we go to Mass (Our Lady, Star of the ...
